Equipping the Inner Man!

Thank you so much for visiting Inner Man Resource Center LLC. I am Mark Young the founder of the organization. I am truly humbled that you decided to explore the services that we provide. Throughout your time here, I am hopeful that you recognize my passion to see people succeed as well as overcome life’s challenges. The goal of Inner Man Resource Center is to assist others by equipping them from the inside out.

I am a Graduate of Jacksonville State University with my degree in Criminal Justice. I have over 20 years of combined experience working in the public and private sector, which includes 17 fruitful years in Community Corrections in St. Clair County, Alabama. After over a decade of Case Management, I transitioned to become the program’s Executive Director in 2019. Prior to my experience with Community Corrections, I have worked with youth as a Mental Health Specialist, and two years assisting in the development of the social, cultural, and life skills of local youth in a community center context. Throughout the years, I have worked alongside many people to achieve their goals. Some of the areas in which I have collaborated with clients include prison re-entry, substance use, veterans, mental health, youth, and more.

I am trained in the facilitation of evidenced based interactive journaling. Interactive Journaling® is an evidence-based practice for motivating and guiding individuals toward positive life change. My extensive training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Understanding the stages of change using the Transtheoretical Model, Grief, and much more. My approach is to listen to the client’s goals, and to walk with them to meet those needs within the agency’s context.

Included in the services that Inner Man Resource Center provides, is to equip organizations through education and professional development. Throughout the years, one thing that I’ve learned, is that everyone has leadership potential inside of them, and this potential must be developed in the inner man. Throughout the different stages of my life, people have been in place developing, mentoring, and inspiring me to look beyond a myopic perspective and challenge my personal status quo. This has motivated me to want to help others do the same.

In addition to having a lead role, as previously stated, I also spent several years in case management. I understand the extremely hard work and professionalism that this position entails. However, large caseloads, and lack of time can be barriers for maximum performance. With that being said, I provide resources that may be beneficial to assist your team’s workload.

Personally, I am extremely grateful for my family. I am married to my wonderful wife Martina, who is my best friend, and we have five amazing children that keeps me laughing and motivated. Most importantly, what keeps me grounded, and strengthens my inner man is faith in Jesus Christ. I am a resource, and we do use evidence-based practices that assist others toward positive life change, but I truly understand that He is the ultimate evidence-based practice, and the reason for my life change. Through this life change, my heart to walk with people through life’s challenges has grown, which inspired me to start this agency.

Thank you for taking your time to learn more about me as the founder of Inner Man Resource Center. You have arrived here for a reason, and I do not take that lightly. I would love to hear from you.
